Freedom Scholarship

The Freedom Scholarship is available through the University of Central Missouri Foundation for a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates active involvement in community building activities at UCM or in their home community. Incoming freshmen are eligible to apply. This scholarship was initiated by the Association of African American Faculty and Staff at UCM in 1994. The purpose of the Freedom scholarship is to provide an opportunity for students from populations historically under-represented in higher education to obtain their undergraduate degree.

  • Freshmen recipients of the Freedom Scholarship must participate in the UCM Mentorship Program administered by the MAPS Office.
