Charles Francis Martin & Maude Williams Martin Scholarship

The Charles Francis Martin and Maude Williams Martin Memorial Scholarship in English was established by friends and family to honor Charles Martin; who served Central for 43 years as a professor in Languages and Literature, as head of the Department of English, and as chair of the Division of Languages and Literature; and Maude Martin, who also taught English and was head of the Foreign Language Department. The scholarship is awarded to a senior or graduate student majoring in English who has completed a minimum of 15 hours in English with a cumulative GPA in English of 3.0. Applicants must demonstrate promise and merit in the teaching of English and/or writing.
