Black & Veatch Annual Scholarship Program (Incoming Freshman)

The Black & Veatch Scholarship program is available through the University of Central Missouri Foundation for undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology: option of robotics, automation, and controls at UCM who have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The Black & Veatch Scholarship Program is a unique signature scholarship program supported by a gift from Black & Veatch. The four-year program will provide Black & Veatch Scholars with scholarship support, internships, and unique, high-impact opportunities to prepare for excellence in the profession of engineering technology in robotics, automation, and controls.

To be eligible to enter the Black & Veatch Scholarship Program, a student must:

1. be an incoming first-time, full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing;
2. have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.00 scale;
3. be fully admitted to UCM
4. be authorized to work in the U.S. (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident)
5. have declared a major in Engineering Technology: Robotics, Automation, and Controls Option;
6. Complete 1:1 career coaching meetings with an assigned Black & Veatch Mentor (minimum 2 per semester)
7. attend at least one (1) Black & Veatch scholar event per semester;
8. participate in at least one (1) job shadowing session;
9. agree to apply for (and complete if offered) Black & Veatch summer internships prior to Junior and Senior year at UCM
10. agree to apply for a full-time position with Black & Veatch in September of final year of degree program for potential employment after graduation
11. complete a Black & Veatch Scholarship Program Supplemental Application, which includes providing:
    a personal statement with career goals
    one (1) reference letter from an employer or supervisor;
