John William "Blind" Boone Scholarship in Music

The John William “Blind” Boone Scholarship in Music is provided through the UCM Alumni Foundation to provide scholarship support for students that have graduated from a high school, homeschool, or received a GED in the state of Missouri. The student must be in good academic standing at the University of Central Missouri, be entering their Junior or Senior year pursuing a BA, BM or BME degree in music; and write an easy (250-500 words) for the following prompt: Share an example of when your music has served or impacted an under-represented community. This scholarship was endowed in 2022 by an anonymous donor; it was originally established as an award in 2002 by the Friends of the Blind Boone Park Organization, including Sandra Irle and Lucille Gress.
