Carla Maltas Music Education Scholarship

The Carla Maltas Music Education Scholarship has been established with the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation to honor Carla Jo Maltas, a teacher who had a long career in music education. Dr. Maltas taught K-12 vocal and general music for fifteen years before going on to complete her Ph.D. in Kodaly Music Education from the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Maltas was a faculty member in Music Education and a strong advocate for all students. This scholarship is available for a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor in Music or Music Education, or a Bachelor of Arts in Music, who has a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or higher, demonstrates financial need, and completes a short essay.
