William Forrest Stirling Memorial Scholarship
The William Forrest Stirling Memorial Scholarship is available through the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation for a student pursuing a degree in agriculture with a preference for a student who has been active in 4-H or Future Farmers of America. This scholarship is made possible by way of a generous gift from Sarah R. Fitterling Bailey, 70, of Warrensburg in memory of her grandfather, William Forrest Stirling.
This scholarship is dedicated to Forrest Stirling, a successful, lifetime farmer in Johnson County, Missouri. He owned one of the first tractors in Johnson County and once commented that he had trouble comprehending the fact that he had actually farmed using only horses. While he was primarily self-taught, he sent his three daughters to college and supported local youth with 4-H livestock projects whenever he could.
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must complete the general application.
