Harold and Sherralyn Craven Scholarship in Theatre

The Harold and Sherralyn Craven Scholarship in Theatre is available through the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation for an incoming freshman student pursuing a degree in Theatre, Musical Theatre or Speech Communication and Theatre and have demonstrated active participation in theatre productions and outstanding scholarship or performance in the field of theatre. This gift is made possible by the generous donation of Harold and Sherralyn Craven, Warrensburg, MO.

Dr. Sherralyn Craven, Professor of Mathematics, taught in the department of mathematics and computer science at the University of Central Missouri for a total of 34 years. She was instrumental in developing the actuarial science major program which was established at the University during the 1988-89 academic year. The Cravens believe in actuarial science and women’s studies programs at Central Missouri, and wanted to provide opportunities for students as a reflection of this belief. Mr. Harold Craven earned his degrees from Chillicothe Business College and the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. Dr. Craven earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Central Missouri and completed her doctoral work at the University of Kansas.
