Mary Jane Calton Risner Nursing Scholarship

The Mary Jane Calton Risner Nursing Scholarship is available through the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation for a junior or senior student pursuing a degree in nursing who has a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is made possible by way of generous gifts in memory of Mary Jane Calton Risner by her loving family.

Mary Jane Calton Risner was born in Olean, MO, on May 18, 1908. She spent most of her life in Central Missouri, the last 32 years in Cass County. She is remembered for her selfless care and nurture of a husband, six children, sisters, brothers and neighbors. She was blessed with an innate, God-given talent for healing and, properly trained, Mary would have been an outstanding nurse. This memorial fund is established by Mary’s loving family to make it possible for talented individuals like her to acquire the knowledge to be outstanding nurses.
