Ollie Krick Memorial Scholarship in Aviation

The Ollie Krick Memorial Aviation Scholarship is available through the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation for a senior student pursuing a degree in aviation who has a minimum GPA of 2.0. This scholarship is made possible by way of a generous gift from friends, family and colleagues in memory of Oliver Krick, ‘92.

Oliver “Ollie” Krick graduated from the University of Central Missouri in 1992 with a degree in aviation technology. He joined the staff of Trans World Airlines (TWA) as a flight engineer and was on the fatal Flight 800 as a part of his training. The mid-air explosion claimed the lives of all aboard on July 17, 1996.

Prior to joining TWA, Ollie worked as a field instructor and charter pilot for Executive Beechcraft in Chesterfield, Missouri, and while working at TWA, he continued to log flight time as a co-pilot for Jet Corporation. Just prior to his death, he had been selected to the F-15 fighter pilot program for the Missouri National Guard.

In his hometown of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Krick is described as one who demonstrated “a quiet example of service, combined with pride in contributing to his community.” In reference to Ollie, it is said that “work combined with play, and duty equal to dedication, leave an indelible and formidable trail for those who are seeking an example of a positive lifestyle.”
