Kozaburo and Hidejiro Teno Scholarship
The Kozaburo and Hidejiro Teno Scholarship is available through the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation for UCM students who are citizens of the United States of America, pursuing coursework that will enable them to promote international relations, and planning to study abroad in Japan. The scholarship was made possible by way of generous gifts from Hidejiro Teno of Tokyo, Japan, in memory of his brother; from Kazuko Teno of Tokyo, Japan, in memory of her late husband; and from Acacia Japan Ltd., a corporation of which both Hidejiro Teno and Kozaburo Teno were directors.
This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Kozaburo Teno of Tokyo, Japan, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UCM in 1964 and died in June, 1993. The scholarship is established in an effort to build a better relationship between the United States and Japan and the United States and other Asian countries. In establishing the scholarship, Mr. Teno said, “my brother Kozaburo and I were thankful for our study at the University of Central Missouri and for the opportunity to live in the United States of America, which helped us understand the United States as a country and the people of the United States.”
