Richard A. Luehrman Art Scholarship (for student teachers)
The Richard A. Luehrman Art Scholarship for Student Teachers is available through the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation for a full-time student pursuing a degree in art education during their student teaching semester who has submitted their portfolio of art directly to the art department (see link below This scholarship is made possible by way of a generous gift from Richard A. and Aileen Luehrman in honor of Dr. Richard A. Luehrman on his retirement from UCM as an art professor.
Please note that consideration for art scholarships requires a digital portfolio of 15-20 pieces of recent work which may include drawings and two- and three-dimensional pieces. This must be submitted by navigating to one of the following links:

Dr. Richard Luehrman retired from the University of Central Missouri in 1993 as professor emeritus of art after being at UCM for 29 years. Dr. Luehrman graduated from UCM in 1952, earned his Master of Arts at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1956 and completed his doctorate at Florida State University in 1968. Before joining Central’s faculty, Dr. Luehrman taught at the secondary and junior college levels. While at UCM, Dr. Luehrman received the Byler Distinguished Faculty Award in 1992 and served as chair of the Department of Art from 1979-1981.
