Voncile Bowen Huffman Scholarship

The Voncile Bowen Huffman Scholarship is available through the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation for an undergraduate student(s) pursuing a degree in teacher education at UCM who are student teaching. This scholarship is made possible by way of an estate gift from Dr. Voncile Bowen Huffman.

Voncile Bowen Huffman was a Missouri native who received her Bachelor of Science in Education from UCM in 1942. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1946, the same year she married Mervin C. Huffman. While there, she earned her master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Denver. Her passion was elementary education, and she served as a teacher and principal in the Denver Public Schools for 38 years before her passing in 2002.
