During his years at UCM, he actively engaged in the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, channeling his energy into numerous community service initiatives both on campus and in Warrensburg. Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from UCM in 1982.

After his time in Warrensburg, Aaron embarked on a successful career at State Farm Insurance, where he dedicated 40 years of service. During his first two years at State Farm, he pursued a graduate degree to earn a MBA from Lincoln University. Subsequently, five years into his tenure at State Farm, Aaron applied to Law School at Tulsa University School of Law, successfully gaining admission to the Oklahoma Bar upon completion.

After relocating several times over the years, Aaron earned a PhD in Organization Development from Benedictine University and founded a company focused on empowering individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities to lead independent lives.

Aaron Slater is happily married to his wife, Kim Slater, who is also an alumna of UCM. Kim earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication: Social Work in 1988. Together, they are proud parents to two young adults, Alexandria and Trey.
