Clifton & Barbara Skidmore Memorial Scholarship

The Clifton & Barbara Skidmore Memorial Scholarship is available through the University of Central Missouri Alumni Foundation for students in good academic standing who are pursuing a degree in Agriculture at UCM, with a preference for freshmen or sophomores. This scholarship is made possible by way of a generous gift from Bob ’82 and Jo Annette Skidmore.

Clifton and Barbara Skidmore were lifelong farmers in Johnson County, Missouri, who lived and worked on their farm near Warrensburg. Married for 60 years, they raised four sons, cherished their many grandchildren, and dedicated their lives to helping others, especially first-time farmers in the Bristle Ridge community. Barbara passed away in 2013, followed by Clifton in 2017.

In 2025, their son, Robert (Bob) Skidmore, and his wife, Jo, established this scholarship to honor Clifton and Barbara’s legacy. Bob earned his degree in Aviation Technology from the University of Central Missouri (then Central Missouri State University) in 1982. Through this scholarship, Bob hopes to support students pursuing a degree in agriculture in the spirit of his parents’ generosity and lifelong dedication to service, community, and farming.
